Steps
- Exercise:
Do basic stretches and situps and pushups every morning. Lift weights three or four times a week. Walk or bicycle for 30 minutes the other days (If you ride the bus or walk to school, then you can get well excercised just walking or riding your bike to school or the bus stop). Contrary to popular belief (among men) most girls don't find overly-muscular guys attractive so don't overdo the muscle building.
- Eat Healthy:
Don't eat junk food. Ok, that might be impossible for many of us. So instead, don't eat junk food often. If your diet is made up of foods with high calories (whether from fats or simple sugars) and little other nutrition (vitamins, minerals, and fiber), it will show in your hair, nails, skin, teeth and gums--not to mention your gut. Consume healthy foods frequently, and other foods in wise moderation.
- Drink water daily and try and avoid soda.
Sugared sodas are the absolute worst for your body--the very definition of empty calories. While diet sodas are a better choice, club soda or seltzer water are better still if you MUST satisfy a carbonation addiction. (Club soda with nothing more added than a squeeze of lemon or lime is a delicious and crisp alternative to many sugared and diet sodas without the artifical sweeteners or the empty calories.)
Scent
- Good Hygienes:
Smelling good is very important! Shower each morning. Use either a strong smelling soap or body wash. It's best if it has some kind of moisturizer in it.
- Wear deodorant.
Put deodorant on your underarms to reduce odor from that area. If you are prone to sweating, wear a deodorant that includes anti-perspirant.
- Wear cologne.
Don't put too much on though. Just two sprays of a masculine smelling cologne will do. If you're using a non-spray cologne, place a few drops on a cotton ball and rub the scented cotton ball around the front of your neck, and just behind your ears. Also, don't choose a scent that everyone else has, such as Axe or Old Spice. Look for something unique!
Another option on scent is to pick a lighter scent rather than somthing that sticks out. If you have a light scent on, Girls will pick up on it without being suffocated.
* Break Bad Habits: Don't smoke. It may seem "cool" but it makes you smell bad, your teeth turn yellow, you get a white coating on your tongue and it gives you bad breath. It also affects your long-term health.
Teeth and Breath
- If you've neglected your teeth, go to a dentist to get a thorough cleaning and an evaluation of your oral health.
- Using a soft-bristle toothbrush, brush your teeth for at least 1 minute. Be sure your toothbrush comes into contact with every tooth surface. Use a low-abrasion toothpaste or plain baking soda.
- Floss your teeth after brushing. No, seriously, I mean it: be sure that floss string goes in between every tooth. If flossing has been unpleasant in the past, there are new varieties of floss that are gentler. If you haven't flossed recently, expect a foul odor to come from the floss and your mouth as you floss. Guess what? That's a concentrated form of what your breath currently smells like.
- Use an ADA-approved mouth rinse to help prevent plaque and gum disease. Alternatively, use a rinse that does not contain any alcohol, but contains ingredients that promote gum health.
Hair and Nails
- Have a masculine-looking haircut. Carvings and spikes are a good choice also and braids drives the ladies wild.
- Most boys look good with hair gel in their hair, so gel up your hair in the morning. Gel adds body and definition to short hair.
- Use a good shampoo and conditioner in the morning as well. You might be able to cut corners and buy an inexpensive shampoo, but you absolutely cannot cut corners on the conditioner. If you have dandruff, use a shampoo and conditioner designed for dandruff.
*Break Bad Habits: Don't bite your fingernails. Keep them cleaned (use a special nail brush for this) and trimmed to an appropriate length. And buffing can make them look good as well. DON'T use clear nail polish - it looks feminine and girls are turned off by that. Buffing gives your nails a clean yet masculine look.
Skin Care
- Wash your face each morning with a gentle soap and a plastic wash pouf, rinse thoroughly, shave with a good razor, then wipe your face with a cotton ball soaked in toner (either with witch hazel or hydrogen peroxide), then use a non-cryogenic moisturizer. Make sure to follow the same routine before going to bed, leaving out the moisturizer if you have oily skin.
- If you have mild acne, try to control it by using an acne medication containing either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide just after you've wiped your face with toner. Dandelion sap is also a good organic way to get rid of zits. A dab from a stem of it a few times a day will get rid of the pimples.
- If you have acne that does not respond to the treatments suggested in the previous step, go to a dermatologist. Clear skin makes an enormous difference in a guy's appearance. Clear skin implies good health, and is prized as a universal symbol of attractiveness worldwide.
Clothing
- Conform to "rules" of your society: Dress like the cool guys.(Skater,Ghetto, Goth preppy or what ever it may be where you live)
- Read magazines such as Vibe and XXL, Esquire or Details. Those magazines will show you how to dress well as far as the latest fashions are concerned. Don't forget that the basics are timeless: solid color polo shirts, jeans in blue or black, plain white and black t-shirts (with or without logos, advertisements, or insignias), blue blazers, socks in white and black, black dress lace up shoes, white sneakers. You'll always look presentable.
- Shopping at corporate chains like American Eagle may make you look just like everyone else who shops at those places. Search for unusual, locally owned clothing stores for unique items to personalize your basic wardrobe. Goodwill is a great place to look, and it's inexpensive too.
- Remember to wear clothing which fits well or is baggy. Clothes a size too small do not make you look thinner or smaller. Dark clothes will help you look a little thinner.
Posture
- It might seem irrelevant, but having good posture will make you look confident. Many women are attracted to confidence.
- Stand up straight and put your shoulders back. Pretend someone just dumped a pitcher of ice cold water down your back. That's how straight your back should be.
Miscellaneous
- When you are trying to impress girls, don't do stupid and dangerous things because most of the time, the girls aren't impressed.
- If you want to attract a girl, you should concentrate on being yourself. Girls like nice guys. Every girl tells you she just wants a nice guy, so be unique, obtain a talent (parlor tricks? fake ESP? creative story-telling?) and just be as charming as you can. Basically try - just try - to distinguish yourself from the billions of other males in our world. Or save yourself the headache and be yourself.
*Whatever you do, do not ignore your crush when you are with your friends; It will only make her run off and tell all her girlfriends what a disgusting, rude, ugly pig you are, and that you smell of B.O. If you want her to notice you, be courteous; Hold the door for her and her friends (discreetly, of course), defend her in an argument, send her an anonymous candy-cane at the school charity raffle, then act super nice to her the next day, etc. Just remember to treat her like a lady, and she will see you as the perfect gentlemen.
Tips
All the above steps can be condensed as follows:
- Smell good.
- Have a good body and good posture.
- Take care of your hair and nails.
- Take care of your skin and teeth and don't have chapped lips.
- Dress well, make sure to read fashion magazines for men, it will be helpful.
- This entire article can be summed up as such: Groom well and get your beauty rest.
- Be Yourself!!
Warnings
- Those people who want to look "better" than they are right now should know that they shouldn't try to be something that they're not. You should be yourself completely when you meet someone for the first time - don't be your representative.
- Say you start to dress and act 'cool' as far as society is concerned, and you soon attract a member of the opposite sex that looks 'attractive.' If you were more comfortable the way you dressed and acted before, you have a problem, because you now have to maintain the act of this new personality. Eventually the discomfort and stress of living this alternate personality will be felt by your partner, who will leave you because you weren't the person she expected you to be.
- Don't overdo it with hairstyling products. Use a light mixture of gel and a small amount of water to give you a nice hold without giving your hair a "plastic" look. Also hair 'fiber,' or wax provide a more controllable hold on hair, and many can be fixed if someone decides to be a jerk and mess up your hair. These are usually called 'pliable hold' products.
- While trying to impress a girl, never, under any circumstances, point out your flaws if she hasn't said anything. She most likely hasn't noticed, and you are lowering her opinion of you if you do so.
- Some girls don't like stereotypical brawny, manly types. If you have someone particular in mind try to understand the person a little before you become "their" ideal via an internet guide, only to find out that they think Axe smells like the dumpster, your muscles are bulgy and creepy, and your "cool" image is just another gimmick to get girls to sleep with you.
- Do not wear Axe (also called Lynx in some countries) or Tag! Most girls don't like the smell of it.
